K.V.Jagannathan (popularly known as Ki.Va.Ja) was a Tamil Scholar who marvelled in (well meaning) puns. His impromptu repartees were very popular. He was editor of Tamil monthly magazine Kalaimal. N.S.Krishnan and T.A. Madhuram (husband wife pair) were popular comedy actors. In a film when asked by Madhuram whether coffee or tea is required, the reply will be "teeye Madhuram" which means Tea willbe good/better.
A really witty and insightful piece! I could barely control my laughter. It was really interesting to learn about the different kinds of jokes there are. Sometimes we assume that all jokes are the same: but, in fact, are not.
A little joke: Why do we tell actors to "break a leg"?
Mr Prasanna, this is not the weak link but the strongest link / piece you wrote! Every word resonated with me like I was writing it myself 🙈
From my ex boss being nicknamed by me as the PJ king and him using PJs to try to make a sour mood a good mood … to my love for words and using puns in life … to my daughter’s love for such PJ jokes in all forms expressed by you in this piece!

Dear Prasanna Ji, You had me in splits. What a way to start my Sunday! One thing to say, U R not PJ; there is lot of fire in your jokes!
Thank you for your kind words.
I second that ! It wasn’t a PJ read for sure 😀
