So glad you are ok and disappointed that know one came to your aid.

We are all too familiar with fall guys as today many have been convicted as a fall guy for Trump while he continues his Teflon effect. Perhaps his days are numbered now though.

Prasanna uncle we are thankful to God that the fall did not lead to any major damage. Please take good care of yourself.

The moral of the story is that the concrete is not concrete enough even in the USA!

This reminded me of my accident in Delhi and how you came to our rescue with all the assistance you could offer. Important that you slowly increase your activities from hereon.

Please take care PM! Glad it was nothing serious! I still remember the day mummy left home to take music class in Chembur and returned within 15 mins with her arm in a sling… she had slipped and fallen on the new and polished floor in Vashi station.

Mani has tripped several times on the pavements in Malleswaram…when will the apathy of the civic authorities end? Will there ever be a change?

How are you now Prasanna. You have brilliantly camouflaged the serious fall to an ordinary incident! The very fact you had the presence of mind to walk back home is consoling.

Please take care Prasanna and see you completely recover before you step out.

As you rightly surmised the fall was the inspiration. Thank you dear Krupa for your fond enquiries.

Pras, first of all Ni Hou!! Hope its better.

Scape goat.... whipping boy.... fall guy.... are directionally the same but increasing in severity. Favorite Punching bag is another useful marital example. Good cop and Bad cop is another good use of the concept whilst negotiating.

It's sometimes OK to be sacrificed for the greater good!!

Sorry to hear about your fall. I guess no one had noticed the projection as not many in US use them other than people like us. 😉

As you know nobody in India uses the sidewalk - even in the rare places when they are available- because of the fear of tripping. And I fear to use them as well, as the dog owners in Malleshwaram find them to be a nice open toilet for their dear pets😉

Take care Prasanna, especially “In a land far from home”. This is also the title of a book by a Bengali who went to teach in Afghanistan in the early 20th century. I’m now going back to read your musings from Filter Coffee #001 onwards.

Thanks! I must warn you that the earlier editions are a bit heavy with legal slant. Later on I decided to make them a friendly read for all.
