The cartoon following the “Any port in a storm” para has an embedded little comic gem, noticeable (on my phone) only after expanding the frame - the casks that people are hanging on to, say “Old Port” !
ANY port in a storm indeed! I would prefer the original, from Oporto.
In addition to the avoidance and mitigation of risks that is mentioned there is also some elements that just cannot be avoided and ends up as 'residual risk'. This is another port in the storm the only difference being this can be preempted. A clear decision on what to do when a residual risk/accepted risk does occur or which port to moor in cash be agreed upon beforehand.
In today's busy world I think the girl Friday that we relate to most are the house helpers or housekeepers. A day they don't turn up would mean it's a port in the storm moment. Medical professionals like surgeons take split second decisions with pretty much every other operation they cobduct trying to save somebody's life.
Another profession that comes to mind is the air traffic control staff in ultra busy airports who need pin point precision and can almost never err lest it leads to a port in the storm decision.
Lastly thank you very much for always being our go to person come what may!!
Many seniors at the fag end of their life have to necessarily connect to some one willing well like any port in a storm
Very well said

Thank you Shashi. That cartoon was a kind of double entendre- figuratively.
