Ashwini Ranjan is not a stranger to me. He was my college mate and friend for 3 long years in Maharaja's college Mysore! from '62 to '65.
I chanced to meet him again with his wife in Bangalore Airport where I chanced to meet him in the early 80s where he said how he could forget the " German Mixer Krups"!!
Further I was further thrilled to hear my dear cousin Prasanna mentioning Ashwini. Lo! what a small world it is indeed.
Now I get to read his beautifully written article on Kashi which I visited way back in '62 as a raw and immature teenager. Now that religious town is exhalted and expanded way beyond my imagination and it has acquired political importance under BJP's rule!!
