“ I was beginning to like brinjal and I thought it is best to give up something you are beginning to like”.... Profound... wonderful read to start a new set of 365 days!

Another motivator for keeping some tough resolutions is actually getting a sponsor in that space you need to keep the resolution...someone who aligns with your thought process and actually helps you or reminds you why you started on this resolution in the first place!

Thanks for wonderful shares... looking forward to Filter Coffee book some day!

Another brilliant choice of topic that ties in so well with the times that we are in.

Just an additional thought is that an actionable resolution where one needs to arrest doing something like smoking or drinking could be slightly different from a behavioral resolution like controlling one's temper as an example. The latter could be a lot more difficult to achieve and would need constant monitoring by an external source or a third party who would need to assess the resolution owner over an extended period of time and provide constructive feedback all along the way.

Patience and l perseverance become paramount for both the varieties and that's where the current generation could fail considering these are virtues that continue to diminish as the baton passes from Gen X to Gen Y to Gen Z.

Nonetheless it continues to be a popular activity with the onset of every new year and thankfully is not monitored by any mobile app just yet!!

Wishing you a very happy and a prosperous new year!!

The aptness of the topic of resolutions at the beginning of the New Year needs to be congratulated. I believe (at least for senior citizens like me) that before you proceed to make any resolution you just need to remember the lyrics of the famous song “Time” by Pink Floyd.

The lyrics, first describes the situation when you were young and when you thought time was on your side. Suddenly you realise, one day, that time had been wasted and you start running to catch with the sun (for lost time) but while the sun is the same in a relative way, you are actually older. Each day you get shorter of breadth, you’re one day closer to death. The next two lines says that every year seems to get shorter and you never seem to find the time. Soon your plans come to naught….

Remember every year, you’re actually closer to death and there is so much to do before you go and then plan your resolutions accordingly. I liked the part where you say the next resolution should be to make yourself reliable and particularly where you just can’t plan for just one year in charitable acts like helping a child go to school. Yes, remember your limitations, both in time and your resources and think how you need to be remembered by others after you time in this world is up and make sustainable resolutions accordingly.

Happy New Year Prasanna and Geetha. FC appears to go from strength to strength. I shared the FC with a friend of mine to help you achieve the magic number of 1000. Consider compiling all the FC issues in a book form. It will make interesting reading.
